One lane, three generations.
In 1979 Bhai Ratna Shakya rented a room off Ason Tole with one Singer machine and a pair of scissors, kainchi, that his grandson still uses for the first cut of every daura. Today Hari Kaji runs the bench with Sarita Dangol, and Hari's daughter Sneha has brought the shop online.
We still cut by hand, press with a coal iron for dhaka collars, and give every order a trial fitting. The website just means you know exactly where your clothes are while we do it.

Who makes your clothes.
Fictional team for this concept site.
Hari Kaji Shakya
Master tailor. Daura suruwal, coats and the first cut of everything.
Sarita Dangol
Women's wear. Kurta suruwal, blouses and the neatest hems in Ason.
Sneha Shakya

Stitching and alterations.
Stitching only, for one piece. Fabric is extra (see the fabric library), or bring your own. Express orders cost 30% more and take half the time.

Alterations
Asked at the counter.
How long does a daura suruwal take?
Ten working days, including a trial fitting. Express is five days. Around Dashain, Tihar and the wedding seasons, order two weeks earlier.
Can you copy a garment I already love?
Yes. Bring it in and we take the pattern from it, then adjust to your current measurements.
I live abroad. Can I order?
Yes. Send your measurements with our guide, we make it, and a relative collects it or we courier it within Nepal. Many customers order for weddings back home.
What if it doesn't fit?
Every order includes a trial fitting and free adjustments until it fits. If we cut from measurements you sent, we still adjust it free.
Do you take a deposit?
30% when we measure you or start cutting, the rest when you collect. Cash, card, eSewa, Khalti or bank transfer.
